CHILDREN’S PROGRAM COORDINATOR DUTIES
OFF ISLAND:
• receive names of children and place into age appropriate groups
• hire staff, based on need
• assign classroom spaces
• write Staff Welcome letter
• communicate with parents throughout Spring
• answer questions and concerns of New Shoaler Parents
• speak with, then write follow up letter to Joe Watts, outlining needs of Children’s Program & kids in the Hotel
• assign and coordinate Marine Lab schedule and Art Barn schedule for all classes
• arrange for: rowboats for Smuttynose, brown bag lunches, lifeguard for Great People Hunt, juice for Nestlings/Skimmers-Gulls
• purchase snacks at Sam’s Club for Nestlings/Skimmers-Gulls
• write Staff thank you letter
• poll parents for feedback and new ideas
ON ISLAND:
• insure that classrooms are prepared by Island Staff
• attend on-Island meeting with Joe Watts and Island crew supervisors
• hold Children’s Staff Meeting
• distribute snacks to each classroom space
• check in with each classroom, during each morning and afternoon session
• conduct Morning Meeting on front porch
• visit Pink Parlor babysitting each morning
• address child and family issues as they arise, and be available for related meetings
• be available for meetings with groups and leaders (ie. ST issues, JTs request for extended bedtime, etc)
• enforce bed times
• follow up on all class schedule details, hall monitoring at night, other requests made of Island staff, as they pertain to children
